7 Tips for Creating Content

Coming up with content for your social media accounts can be a full-time job.

It's important to be consistent in our content creation but finding the time can be challenging, we weren't all born marketers, and it can be difficult knowing what engaging content is.

In order to make life easier for you, I’m sharing 7 tips that you can start using today in order to create content that you can share with your audience.

1. Google Alert

Set up a google alert for certain topics. You will receive one email a day per topic so you can quickly sort, filter and share relevant information. That way you can see what is being said about your industry.

2. Podcasts

Podcasts are a great source of information. Listen while you work, in the car, when you are cooking dinner. I highly recommended keeping a pen and paper handy when you are listening though. Pay attention to what people are struggling with. Pay attention to any area that you feel the host might not have addressed that you would have and talk about it with your audience.

3. Flipboard

A daily, online magazine, where you select the topics you are interested in. There are articles from Fashion - Business - Technology- to Spirituality, all kinds of information that you can either share with your audience or create your own content out of.

4. Industry Leaders

Pay attention to what the leaders of your industry are doing and talking about daily. You can gather a ton of information in today's world of social media, especially if you are watching Instagram and Facebook stories. This is an opportunity for you to see what they do on a daily basis.

5. Competitors

Stalk your competitors on social media. Put them in your Pages to Watch in your Facebook Insights and look at their top posts. Spend time reading the comments to see how people are interacting with them, what questions and concerns do they have, then you can address that with your own following (do not criticize your competitors though)

6. Masterminds/Inner Circles

Join these groups and listen to the questions people are asking about their clients. Have you addressed those concerns with your followers? Share things you are learning.

7. Repurpose your Content

Look at what was already a success and repost it. Turn it into a video, story, blog post, whatever. You already know your audience responds to that content so reuse it.

There are plenty of influencers out there who tell you “you need to produce more content”.

It’s really learning how to turn one piece of content into a dozen other pieces i.e. videos/audio’s/podcasts/Stories/Facebook posts/ Instagram posts/email list/transcribed copies/youtube/LinkedIn/quote graphics, etc.

If you aren’t technical or you just don’t have the time to do that you can outsource some of those tasks on Fiverr or Upwork. Perhaps you want to share quote graphics you can get a list of free stock photo's HERE.

Don’t get bogged down in doing it all yourself.

Remember it’s not about producing more it's about doing more with what you have.

It's about working smarter not harder.
