Six Secrets to Creating Stellar Content

social media tips

Facebook has put a big emphasis on creating content that your fans and followers will engage with.

Many people struggle to create content that their audience responds to so I came up with 6 ways that may spark your creativity.

1. Save Button

This is a feature many people overlook. This is the perfect place to save ads that have caught your eye as well as links to articles, graphics, and videos.

When you save content that has caught your attention you should begin to analysis it by asking yourself:

  • Why did it catch your attention?
  • Does it relate to your industry
  • What can you create for your followers in a similar fashion?
  • If it was viral content, why do you think it went viral?

Ask these questions with any content that catches your eye and bring that into your own page.

2. Pages to Watch

If you go into your Insights on your Facebook page you will see a section labelled “Pages to Watch” where you can select five pages to spy on.

This feature will show you the top posts on those pages for the week. Now don’t just use it for your competitors - check out some of the top engaging pages on the Facebook Platform and see what they are doing to connect with their audience.

Switch up those 5 pages often. The more insights you can get into what your ideal clients are responding to the better.

3. Pages Feed

See a newsfeed of all the pages your business follows. So again you can what content is getting is appealing and analyze it but you can also share & tag businesses in your content.

This is a great way to create networking opportunities and develop a reputation as someone who supports other businesses.

People will be more likely to comment and share your posts if you are doing the same.

4. Websites

Flipboard is an online newspaper where you can get to pick the topics you are interested in. You receive a daily email, magazine-style which contains articles on all the topics you were interested in. Evaluate them and see how you can relate them back to your business.

Buzzfeed displays viral content that is on the web. You can do some Trendjacking and share it if it's related to your business.

Another great site is wimp.com.

5. Post planning sites

There are several sites like Post Planner & Sendible that collect popular articles which makes sharing easy.

Again remember that links are being de-prioritized so you don’t want to fill your feed with links. Spend time recreating it and turn it into your own words and relate it back to your business.

6. Create your own graphics

Use Canva, Adobe Spark, Pic Monkey to create your own graphics with branded colours and logos. Put your mark on everything you do to train your clients to recognize your content.

People will begin to identify your brand in their feeds if you are consistent in the look and feel of your graphics.
