What you’re giving is gold — here’s why they’re not seeing it.
You’ve got a folder.
The one packed with free downloads, swipe files, and checklists you swore you’d “circle back to.”
You’ve created some, saved a dozen more, and chances are — you’re still not sure what to do with any of them.
But hey — you’re adding value, right?
Here’s the hard truth:
You don’t get paid for adding value.
You get paid for creating perceived value.
And perceived value is a different game.
Let me show you.
Let’s say you’re a health coach.
You post a Reel: “5 tips to reduce stress.”
It’s helpful. Clean. True.
It gets a few saves. Maybe a comment.
But it doesn’t do anything.
Because there’s no context. No stakes. No path.
Now, let’s reframe it:
“Most of my clients can’t stick to meditation for more than three days.
This 3-minute reset works better — because it doesn’t feel like ‘one more thing’ to do.
It’s the first thing I teach when we start working together.”
Same tip.
But now it feels like something that matters.
It’s tied to real people. Real struggle. Real outcome.
That’s perceived value.
Here’s the shift:
You don’t need to yell louder.
You just need to say it like someone who knows it works.
Here’s a simple formula to help:
- What is it?
Say it plain. No jargon. No clever phrasing. - Why does it matter?
Tell them what it solves. Show them the pain it relieves. - What happens next?
Point to the bigger transformation — even if it’s just the next small step.
Let’s try it again — different example:
Say you’re a brand designer.
Instead of: “Here’s a quick guide to choosing brand colours.”
Try this:
“Most small business owners overthink their colours — and it shows.
This one-page guide helps you pick a palette that actually reflects your values (not just your favourite shade of blue).
Because once your colours align with your message, the whole brand starts to feel like you.”
Feel the difference?
That’s what happens when your value stops being generic… and starts being grounded in context, clarity, and care.
You don’t need a bigger voice.
Or a louder presence.
Or a flashier brand.
You need your wisdom to land.
Not with everyone — just with the people it’s meant for.
And that happens when you stop giving from a vacuum… and start giving from a place of power.
You’re not behind.
You’re not broken.
You’re not missing the magic.
You’re missing the language that helps other people recognize it.
